StoreRuler practical guide

Making stock counts part of daily work

A short, practical starting point for your store operations. This guide prioritizes store data and permissions while you work.

1. Define the count scope

Choose a manageable product group or shelf rather than counting the whole inventory at once. If sales and receiving continue during a count, note which movements may affect its timing.

2. Verify the physical quantity

Check the exact variation and barcode. For missing stock, review sales, B2B, purchasing and adjustment sources. Compare recorded stock with physical stock in the same context.

3. Apply differences deliberately

Count differences may require an inventory adjustment. Preview changes, preserve authorized approval and apply them only to the right products. Keep test records separate if a recount is needed.

4. Connect the count to purchasing

Review current stock alongside supplier orders. Keep stock on hand, open purchases and sales movements distinct to avoid duplicate buying. Stock counts and purchasing are included in StoreRuler Pro.
