To install StoreRuler, open Plugins → Add New Plugin in your WordPress admin, search for "StoreRuler", then click Install Now and Activate. WooCommerce 8.0 or later must be active first. The free plugin needs no account, has no time limit and works on the orders, products and customers you already have.
Requirements
Check these before you install. Most hosting plans meet them.
| What | Minimum |
|---|---|
| WordPress | 6.5 or later |
| WooCommerce | 8.0 or later, installed and active |
| PHP | 8.0 or later |
| Database | MySQL or MariaDB with InnoDB tables. SQLite is not supported. |
StoreRuler works with WooCommerce's High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) and with the older posts-based order storage. On a multisite network you can activate it on each store site or network-wide; every site keeps its own StoreRuler data.
Install StoreRuler from WordPress.org
- Install and activate WooCommerce 8.0 or later, if your site does not have it yet.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin and search for "StoreRuler". The same listing is on WordPress.org.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
- Open StoreRuler from the admin menu. The first time, you are asked whether to share some data with Freemius, the service behind StoreRuler's plans and licences. Click Skip to continue without sharing anything. You can opt in or out later from the Plugins screen.
There is nothing to import. StoreRuler reads your WooCommerce records, and they stay WooCommerce records: WooCommerce's own order, product and customer screens keep working, and a change made in one place shows in the other.
Try it with sample data
On an empty store, open Help → Quick actions in StoreRuler and click Try with sample data. It creates one category, three products, two customers and three orders, so you can try the order desk before real orders arrive. The sample records send no emails, move no stock and cannot be bought. Remove sample data deletes them again.
What you see first
StoreRuler adds its own menu to the WordPress admin: Today, Sales, Products, Customers, Marketing, Reports and Settings & Help. Administrators and shop managers can use it.
- Home. The first menu entry opens Home: net sales, orders and the average order for 7, 30 or 90 days against the period before, with daily sales, orders by stage, best sellers and stock that needs attention.
- Today. A start to the day: the orders waiting to be prepared or paid. A new store also gets a setup checklist (store details, first product, payment methods) on the Help page.
- Order desk. Under Sales, every order grouped by stage: New, Preparing, Ready to ship and Completed. Most daily work happens here; see the order desk.
Check store health and email
Open StoreRuler → Settings and go to the System tab. Store health checks the store details and time zone, the checkout, payment methods, policy pages, product details, a first test order, the WordPress scheduler and StoreRuler's storage. Each check is marked Ready, Review or Fix first. Start with the ones marked Fix first; the checks themselves change nothing.
On the Email tab you can test your current email connection or connect the store's existing email account, so tracking and order emails reach your customers. Both are explained in Store health and email.
Languages and your phone
English, Turkish, German and Spanish are included. StoreRuler follows your WordPress language settings: the site language, or the language in your own user profile.
On a phone, StoreRuler works in the browser. On Home, a small bar offers Add to home screen where the browser allows it; on an iPhone or iPad it shows the Share → Add to Home Screen steps instead. The icon then opens StoreRuler like an app, with a shortcut to the order desk. It is the same signed-in admin, and nothing is stored for offline use.
Moving to StoreRuler Pro later
Everything on this page is in the free version. StoreRuler Pro is a separate, paid plugin sold in three plans: Pro, Plus and Business. You install it from its ZIP file, and it runs instead of the free plugin on the same StoreRuler data and settings. The steps are in Upgrade and licences, and pricing shows what each plan adds.
Next step: open StoreRuler → Sales and work through your first order with the order desk guide.
Frequently asked questions
Is StoreRuler free?
Yes. The plugin on WordPress.org works with no time limit and no account. StoreRuler Pro is a separate, paid plugin for stores that need more.
Does StoreRuler work with an SQLite database?
No. It needs a MySQL or MariaDB database with InnoDB tables, which most hosts provide. SQLite databases are not supported.
Do I have to share data with Freemius?
No. The question on the first screen is optional. Click Skip and nothing is sent; the free version works without an account.
Does StoreRuler replace WooCommerce's own screens?
No. It adds its own screens and leaves WooCommerce's in place. Orders, products and customers stay WooCommerce records, so a change made in one place shows in the other.
