If WooCommerce emails do not arrive, open StoreRuler → Settings → Email history in the free plugin. It lists every email your site handed to its mail server in the last 30 days, with the result and any failure reason. If they fail or land in spam, connect your store's email account under Settings → Email and verify it with a test code.
Why WooCommerce emails go missing
WordPress sends email through the web server's own mail function unless a mail connection is set up. Many hosts limit that, and inbox providers often treat it as spam because it is not signed for your domain. An email that is switched off under WooCommerce → Settings → Emails is never sent at all. Email history tells you which of these cases you have.
Read the email history
- Open StoreRuler → Settings and choose Email history. It also opens from the Email tab.
- Read the counts on All and Not sent; click Not sent to see only the failures.
- Type an address or a subject in the search box to find one message.
- Read the Result column: Sent, or Not sent with the reason under it.
Each entry keeps the date, recipient, subject, result and reason, never the message text. Entries are deleted after 30 days, and at most 5,000 are kept. "Sent" means your mail server accepted the message, not that it reached the inbox.
Connect your store's email account
A WordPress administrator does this once, under StoreRuler → Settings → Email. StoreRuler creates no email account; you use one you already have.
- Connect your store email account: choose the email provider (Hostinger Email, Gmail or Google Workspace, or another provider), then enter the store email address, sender name, username and password. Gmail needs an app password from your Google account. For another provider, copy its outgoing server (SMTP) details and choose secure port 465 or 587.
- Click Save account for testing. Saving sends nothing and does not turn the connection on. The login details are stored encrypted and never shown again.
- Send and verify a test email: click Send one test email. It goes to your own WordPress account's address. Type the six-digit code from that email and click Verify the code. The code expires after 10 minutes and allows five attempts.
- Use this connection for store emails: click Enable for all store emails. WordPress and WooCommerce emails now go through this account; each feature keeps its own sending and consent settings.
Turning the connection off returns to your previous WordPress mail settings, and disconnecting deletes the saved login details. If an email plugin already handles delivery, StoreRuler leaves it in charge and offers Test the current WordPress email settings instead.
For reliable delivery, also complete your email provider's domain authentication settings (SPF, DKIM and DMARC). Your provider's help pages explain where they go in your DNS.
Run the store health checks
Open StoreRuler → Settings and choose the System tab. Store health checks the setup a shop needs and marks each card Ready, Review or Fix first, with the most urgent one on top as "Do this first".
- Store basics and the store time zone.
- The checkout page, and for stores shipping in Turkey, whether it asks for a phone number.
- Online payment methods and the store's policy pages.
- Product record completeness: products missing a price or SKU, and products out of stock.
- A first test order, WordPress's scheduled jobs and StoreRuler's storage.
Each card links to the screen where the setting lives. Reading the checks changes nothing; a few cards offer a repair button, which runs only when you click it. Fix the Fix first cards, then the Review ones, and click Check again.
Send a support report
Next to the checks, Copy support summary copies a short report and Download support file saves it as a file. It lists versions, plugins and a few settings, without passwords, customer details or order details. It reaches us only if you send it.
Follow changes in the activity log
StoreRuler → Settings → Activity log shows who did what in StoreRuler and when: order steps, product edits, setting changes and more. Leave All record types for the newest lines, or choose a Record type and enter its Record number to follow one order, product or customer, then click Show activity. Open record → goes to the record. The log only reads; it lists what StoreRuler records, not every change made in WooCommerce's own screens.
Plans
Store health, the support report, email history, the store email connection and the activity log are in the free version and in every paid plan. See all features and pricing.
Next step: if the product card in Store health shows gaps, fix them with product health. Back-in-stock emails also use this connection; see live carts and back in stock.
Frequently asked questions
Does "Sent" mean the customer received the email?
No. It means your mail server accepted the message. Delivery to the inbox is not guaranteed; ask the customer to check their spam folder and complete your domain's SPF, DKIM and DMARC settings.
Do I have to connect an email account?
No. WordPress keeps sending with its current settings. Connect an account when emails do not arrive; Email history shows what was sent.
Does Store health change my settings?
No. It only checks. A few cards offer a repair button, which runs only when you click it. The support file contains no passwords, customer or order details.
Can I send an email again from Email history?
No. The list only shows the history. Send it again from where it started, for example the order's tracking message.
